Thanksgiving
Blessings
We need to
stop and think
each day,
How blessed
we really
are.
We have our
homes, and
all we need,
And most of
us have cars.

I'm thankful
for all things,
Though sometimes
we take for
granted,
The blessings
we enjoy,
Because we've
always had
it.

Thanksgiving
is just around
the corner,
Will we spread
our blessings
around?
Some will
have nothing
at all to
eat,
And some will
be sleeping
on the ground.

While we slice
our tasty
turkey,
And enjoy
the things
we've known,
I hope I still
remember those,
That don't
even have
a home.

We are blessed
above all
Nations,
Yet we forget
to pray,
For those
that will
be separated,
From families
on Thanksgiving
day.

We love to
enjoy our
Thanksgiving
dinner,
With turkey,
dressing,
and all the
trimmings.
Pumpkin pie,
sweet potatoes,
and friends,
We know for
sure are coming.

There's always
a lot of cooking,
Like baking
pies and icing
cakes,
We need to
thank the
one that prepares
the food,
For a lot
of work it
takes.

Families are
always ready
for that special
day,
For some live
off too far,
To come as
often as they'd
like,
To drive it
in the car.

It's always
good to get
together,
And share
our latest
news,
We're always
ready to hear
of something
good,
Since the
Holidays are
so few.

We make up
for lost time,
As we see
them just
so seldom.
We'll enjoy
them while
they're here,
And talk about
things we
meant to tell
them.

After our
big festive
meal,
We'll enjoy
a cup of coffee
and some pie,
Then complain
about how
much we ate,
Till we felt
like we could
die.

How happy
everyone seemed
to be,
Relaxed and
ready for
a nap,
But we still
have a lot
to talk about,
Before putting
on our night
cap.

We're already
planning for
our Christmas,
And just what
all we'll
share.
It will be
something
though like
Thanksgiving,
Each thing
thought out
with care.

It's really
not important
though,
As long as
we're together.
And no matter
what the weather
is,
It really
doesn't matter.
