Christmas Joy

Well Christmas day is almost here,
Merry Christmas to you all.
The Christmas tree is standing,
And all decorated with Christmas balls.

There is tinsel from top to bottom,
And lights are all aglow.
Soon there will be gifts as well,
With fancy wrappings and lovely colored bows.

We give our gifts to show our love,
Just as Jesus gave to all,
For the Christ Child was born on Christmas day,
In a lowly manger stall.

The stairway's adorned,
With silver tinsel all a glow.
And in the very top of the tree,
A special ornament for show.

Why do we celebrate Christma?
Is it the presents they all gave?
No, but to celebrate the Savior,
Born on Christmas day.

Dad will be lounging in his favorite chair,
While Mom prepares the way,
With all her special recipes,
For a perfect Christmas day.

She will prepare a Turkey,
With dressing and all the rest.
She'll make gravy, cakes, and pies of every kind,
Our family, God has truly blessed.

There's mom's applesauce cake,
Pecan pie and raisin too,
There 's cocanut and lemon,
What ever you might choose.

But of all the blessings we receive,
The very best of all,
Is knowing Jesus Christ,
And being ready when He calls.
