The Evidence of Spring

When Spring is evident,
You can feel it everywhere.
Birds are singing in the trees,
Like the blossomed apple and the pear.

The grass will soon need mowing,
And flowers again will bloom,
But most of all the children,
Will be glad to leave their rooms.

Staying in when it's cold or rainy,
Well that's just fine,
But when Spring arrives,
It's all about being outside.

Hopscotch, and jump rope,
Or riding the old skateboard,
Or having a cold drink,
Down at the corner store.

Life is full of pleasure,
But we must seek to find,
The things that are worthwhile,
To keep a clean and peaceful mind.

I like the early mornings,
When the sun just starts to rise,
To go out in the morning air,
And enjoy the new surprise.

For every day is something new,
There's none like the one before.
But we can find it most rewarding,
By all the blessings we've enjoyed.
