Setting sun and skies of gold
Billowing clouds my eyes behold.
Tree lined beauty dims from sight
Currents lift me into the night.
Gazing from a window seat
Within myself I soon retreat
Reliving moments locked in time
Of loved ones I have left behind.
Laughter rings within my ears
Of stories told from childhood years
Remember when....we were young?
Life was simpler and so much fun...
Time soon passed, as it always does.
Some left home. Some fell in love.
Yet time will never take from me
Those gifts from God...sweet memories.
Twinkling starlight glistens bright
While flying in the moonlit night
I'll think of days now left behind
And keep you gently on my mind.
Smile a smile and sing a song
When days seem harsh and hours long
