As I gaze out my window
at the snow covered ground
remembering Christmas
when I was a Child

The tree on the porch
with lights all aglow
tinsel and garland
a man made of snow

Footprints, snow-angels
forts of pure white
mem'ries of Christmas
bring back pure delight

Butterflies in tummy
I can't hardly wait
for Rudolph and reindeer
pulling a sleigh

What will he bring me?
been good as can be
excited for morning
'n gifts 'neath the tree

Left out chocolate cookies
sweet carrots for elves
a candy cane greeting
I taped on the shelf

Stockings were hung
awaiting surprise
eyes grew with excitement
to find goodies inside

An evergreen wreath
scent tickled my nose
pinecones 'n berries
red ribbon, of course

Reflections of candles
the sweet mistletoe
T'was The Night Before Christmas
favorite story, Dad told

The aromas from kitchen
Mom's cranberry bread
visions of sugarplums
still dance in my head

Set up in the corner
was tree trimmed in gold
gifts left by Santa
with name tags 'n bows

The twinkling of lights
brought comfort 'n warmth
we sang Christmas Caroles
directed by Mom

Each year I remember
'n heart wears a grin
giggling 'n happy
a youngster, again

Wishing you all the magic and
wonder of the Holiday Season..
