Spirits Of The Sea

Spirits Of The Sea

Waves and rocks collided
hummed lonely lullabies
seagulls stopped to listen
squealed with mournful cries

along the ocean's shoreline
shells nestled 'neath the sand
sheltered from the turmoil
dolphins barked a chant

reflections 'pon the surface
drifted, waved goodbye
'morrows seemed so distant
washed out with the tide

below the moonlit grayness
churning 'neath the sea
echoes of a manatee
shadowed t'ween the weeds

spirits woke with hauntings
could feel them in my core
questions teased 'n taunted
what secrets lie below?

white foam met the shoreline
waltzed in synchrony
with rain 'n waves of thunder
I sensed deep mystery

The windmill stood in silence
looked on with watchful eye
beams shown down from Heaven
as rainbow graced the sky

at once the waves grew quiet
strong winds simmered down
I felt a calm embracing
enwrapped in Master's arms

the Harbor Headlights twinkled
His eyes fixed on the sea
turbulence diminished
within a soothing breeze

my inner spirit lifted
if only for awhile
'n heart began to tango
was happy as a child
