Thanksgiving Together
Some years ago
Harvest Festivals,
Began taking place
all 'round,
Thanking God for
plentiful crops
and,
How His Love came
tumbling down.

The first Thanksgiving
Day a long time,
Ago young girls
from other,
Cultures came
together creating,
Corn stalk decor
together.

It was such a
happy day laughing,
Watching the other
one learn,
Life's differences
getting Thanksgiving's
Day table ready
in turn.

What a peaceful
morning for new
friends,
Having a good
time making,
Many fine things
Thanksgiving Day
'cause,
Life's now exhilarating.

Both Pilgrims
and Indians endured,
Life's challenges
together,
At first in America
yet they,
Were friendly
with each other.

The following
year they joined
in one,
Ceremony with
great peace,
To share Thanksgiving
Together and,
Gave Thanks for
harvest's increase.

And there was
joy in their hearts
giving,
Honoring all in
God's Name,
All they had reaped
in the year's
harvest,
Giving Him all
their acclaim.

Thanksgiving Day
in America,
Is a time to offer
Praise,
For turkeys, hams,
stuffing, pumpkin
pies,
And reaped wealth
from fields those
days.

There was a spirit
of gratitude,
For God's ever
lifting gifts,
The harvest of
rice, corn, wheat,
berries,
For how His love
always lifts.

Gathering in life's
festivities,
Were families
and friends together,
And new found
friendships from
everywhere,
As hearts filled
with thanksgiving.

One Thanksgiving
Day long, long
ago,
Pilgrims and Indians
came,
To Thanksgiving
Together giving,
Thanks to the
Lord in His Name.
